KOMPAS.com – The story of an 8-year-old girl on the border of the United States and Mexico who was found with 67 different DNA in her, went viral on social media.
One of the sad stories of this border girl was shared by this TikTok account Sunday (21/5/2023).
People in the video said an 8-year-old boy was rescued at the border and taken to hospital for a doctor’s examination.
From the examination, the DNA of dozens of different people was found on his body.
“They (doctors) found traces of 67 DNA in him,” says the narration in the video.
A video with a similar narrative was also uploaded by this TikTok account, Monday (22/5/2023).
“You think the world isn’t full of crime. They found an 8 year old girl at the border with 67 different DNA in her,” he wrote.

The story of an 8 year old girl at the US border
Former candidate for governor of Arizona, Karl Lake, took part in spreading the issue of the rape of a little girl by 67 people across the border.

Karl Lake’s post has also received more than 3.3 million views, 46,000 likes and 17,400 re-tweets from Twitter users.
This issue stems from a video interview with Arizona congressional candidate, Jeff Zink, on the Tina Peters Shows, which will air on April 17, 2023.
There, Zink tells of meeting a young girl while he and others were visiting the Arizona border, near the City of Douglas in 2021.
He met Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and border patrol officers who were driving away a group of migrants including an 8-year-old girl.
Officers allegedly told him two men in the group had been executed by a cartel of Mexican coyotes, or smugglers, who had fled.
Zink also said he evaluated the little girl who at that time could not speak.
Has 67 DNA samples
After examining the doctors, they later informed that the 8-year-old girl had 67 different DNA samples in her.
“So when we finally delivered the girl and they took her to the hospital and I spoke to the doctor about what was going on, I got a call from her,” Zink said.
“And she said ‘Basically, professional to professional in the medical field, I just want to tell you, that little 8-year-old girl has 67 different DNA samples in her,'” he continued.
Zink continued, the number 67 is the minimum amount of DNA the number of times she was raped.
According to him, the reason why the girl could not speak was because she had been screaming and crying for days or even weeks.

Not yet verified
Although the story sounds heartbreaking, according to Newsweek, the incident has not been verified, neither reported nor recorded by various local authorities.
Moreover, this 8 year old girl’s story keeps repeating itself with some inconsistencies in several parts.
Admittedly, however, the journey across the border along South America to the United States kills hundreds of immigrants and exposes them to other hazards each year.
Sexual violence, for example, is one of the biggest threats to immigrants.
A 2020 report by the humanitarian and charitable medical organization Doctors Without Borders or Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) found that 57.3 percent of people interviewed had experienced some type of violence.
Among the violence that occurred, including cases of assault, extortion, sexual assault, and torture, along the migration route through Mexico.
Another MSF report from 2017 also stated that nearly a third of the women surveyed experienced sexual harassment while traveling.
