This prompted President Volodymyr Zelensky to complain that Tehran was hurting the Ukrainian people.
Military authorities in southern Ukraine said in a statement that they had shot down the Shahed-136 unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) over the sea near the port of Odesa.
Ukraine and the United States have previously accused Iran of supplying drones to Russia, something Tehran denies.

Zelensky’s spokesman, Serhii Nykyforov, said the president had asked the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry to respond to the use of Iranian combat equipment by Russian forces.
“Such actions by Iran are considered a measure against the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine and also against the lives and well-being of Ukrainian citizens,” it said in a statement.
Military experts, as quoted ReutersSaturday (9/24/2022) said the drones would be useful for Russia for reconnaissance and as roaming munitions that can bide their time in finding and striking a suitable target.
