REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MUNCHEN — Bayern Munich versus Viktoria Plzen in Group C of the Champions League at the Allianz Arena, Munich, Germany, Wednesday (5/10/2022) early morning WIB, was marked by the solidarity of the supporters’ actions. Munich fans unfurled two banners of support for Aremania who were victims of the Kanjuruhan tragedy.
“More than 100 people were killed by the police. In memory of the deaths at (Stadion) Kanjuruhan,” read the banner on white cloth spread by the audience in the stands. The fans mourned the victims of the fans after the Arema versus Persebaya match at the Kanjuruhan Stadium on Saturday (1/10/2022) night WIB.
The third match of the Champions League also began with a moment of silence to honor the hundreds of Aremania who died at the Kanjuruhan Stadium. “Before kick-off“The team and spectators who were present at the stadium held a moment of silence for the victims of the tragedy that occurred at the Kanjuruhan stadium (Indonesia),” reads a statement posted on the club’s official account.
The hosts won the match 5-0 through goals from Leroy Sane, Serge Gnabry, Sadio Mane and Eric Maxin Choupo-Moting. Munich appeared dominant over the defending champions of the Czech Republic League.
