Jakarta – PT Aneka Tambang Tbk (Antam) has opened its voice in response to the decision of the Supreme Court (MA), which rejected Antam’s judicial review (PK) regarding the lawsuit of a conglomerate or often nicknamed Crazy Rich Surabaya named Budi Said.

This also forced Antam to pay 1.1 tons of gold, or around Rp. 1.22 trillion, to the Surabaya conglomerate.

Responding to the news, Corporate Secretary Division Head Antam, Syarif Faisal Alkadrie, said that his party respects the PK decision issued by the Supreme Court.

“The company respects the decision. However, we are still waiting to obtain a copy of the decision in question,” said Syarif when contacted VIVA BusinessMonday, September 18 2023.

In relation to this case, Syarif ensured that the company had carried out its rights and obligations for all buying and selling transactions in accordance with the applicable regulations. The company has delivered all goods according to the quantity paid by the plaintiff to the authorized party, with reference to the official prices in effect at that time.

“The plaintiff’s accusations were made by individuals who acted outside their authority and were not in accordance with company regulations,” said Syarif.

As a public company, continued Syarif, Antam is bound by various provisions and is regularly supervised by authorized government agencies or institutions.

“So that we always carry out business practices in accordance with Good Corporate Governance (GCG) and applicable regulations,” he said.
