PALANGKA RAYA, PROKALTENG.CO-Head of the Culture and Tourism Office (Disbudpar) of Central Kalimantan (Kalteng), Adiah Chandra Sari hopes that in the next Mangenta Isen Mulang Cultural Festival (FBIM) competition young participants can participate. The reason is, so far the participants in the Mangenta competition are known to be still dominated by old age participants.
According to Adiah, with the involvement of young people it is hoped that they will be able to provide a touch of ideas and creativity that they have in this traditional food competition. So as to create a new nuance at the annual festival. To make this happen, he said, the cooperation of regional governments from regencies/cities throughout Central Kalimantan is needed to send delegations.

“Back again this year we are holding a Mangenta competition. I hope that our tradition can be developed into culinary products that can be liked by modern society today, including young people. As we can see today, the participants are elderly (old, red) and there are still not many young people,” he said, Friday (26/5/2023).
“This situation is really worrying. But in the future it can be used as an evaluation, so that this competition can be liked by young people,” he added.
