Shoei’s ‘Marc Marquez’ helmet for sale in Indonesia, costs IDR 14 million!

Shoei X-15 which is a replica helmet of Marc Marquez in MotoGP goes on sale in Indonesia. The head guard is claimed to have a high level of resemblance to the helmet used by The Baby Alien on the track. So, what are the technologies offered?

Boy Septa as the Manager of PT Prakarsa Bangun Sarana (PBS) which manages Shoei distribution in Indonesia explained, the new Shoei X-15 helmet was really similar to the one used by Marc Marquez in MotoGP. In fact, he claims, the difference lies only in the interior.

“In terms of technology, it’s the same as MotoGP, the materials are the same. The difference is only in the interior, MotoGP helmets have PFS or personal fitting systems. So the interior has been designed for racers like Marc Marquez,” said Boy when answering detikOto’s questions in Jakarta.

According to Boy, the helmets have similarities in material, visor and design. So, he said, it felt almost the same as when using Marc Marquez’s helmet in MotoGP.

“So this feels like wearing a customized Marquez helmet for personal use,” he said.

Shoei X-15 Advanced Technology

The Shoei X-15 is specifically designed for use on the racing circuit. In fact, based on wind tunnel testing, the head guard remains stable when used at speeds of 350 km/hour. The helmet is claimed not to be easily lifted or pulled when hit by strong winds.

Shoei X-15 is equipped with a visor or glass with a CWR-F2R protector which has a high density level. So, when it rains or strong winds, the user’s face can be completely protected.

Not only that, the glass is also made very clear and bright. These advantages are very useful when used at night or when the streets are covered with thick fog.

The manufacturer also equips the helmet with special technology that allows the driver’s visibility to be regulated. This component allows the position of the visor to be a few centimeters higher.

Shoei X-15 uses a sophisticated interior that doesn’t get wet easily. So that when the user’s head sweats, the body fluids are immediately absorbed by the interior material properly. While the bearings are designed to be more comfortable and safe.

The Marc Marquez replica helmet is claimed to have a high soundproof level. This makes the user’s concentration more awake. Then there is the technology of the emergency quick release system (EQRS) in the form of a special tape, which when pulled the helmet will be detached from the head.

Currently, Shoei X-15 helmets are available at a number of Shoei partner dealers in Indonesia. Meanwhile, the price starts from Rp. 11.6 million to Rp. 14.4 million, depending on the color choice chosen.
