Palangka Raya (ANTARA) – A robber in Palangka Raya City, Central Kalimantan with the initials MS (31) who was arrested by members of the Pahandut Police on Thursday (22/9) faces up to 12 years in prison.
Kapolsek Pahandut Kompol Susilowati in Palangka Raya, Friday, said the snatcher who was already in the detention room of the local police station was charged with Article 365 paragraph (2) 1 of the Criminal Code concerning theft with violence.
“In this case the Pahandut Police investigators continue to develop, to check for involvement in other cases that occurred in Palangka Raya,” said the Police Chief.
The first-ranked National Police officer explained that MS launched his action on Tuesday (20/9) and that the victim was a woman named Silvia (22) while crossing Jalan C Bangas IV Menteng Village, Jekan Raya District, Palangka Raya City.
“The robbery incident occurred at around 01.00 WIB, at which time the victim was driving across the area to intend to return to his home in the local area,” he said.
The heroine at the National Police said, based on the victim’s information when she was at the scene, she was suddenly grabbed by an unknown person, namely MS, then MS pulled her bag so that the victim fell from the motorcycle she was driving.
“After experiencing the incident, the victim immediately reported it to the SPKT Pahandut Police, which we immediately responded to by conducting an investigation process and visiting the crime scene (TKP),” he explained.
As a result, after receiving a report and various instructions from the victim’s statement, members of the Pahandut Police carried out an investigation and as a result MS was successfully secured in the area of Jalan Bukit Raya Induk, Palangka Raya City.
“When the perpetrator was arrested, there was absolutely no resistance, even members also obtained a number of evidence belonging to the victim of the robbery,” said Susilowati.
Meanwhile, Kapolsek Pahandut also appealed to all people in the ‘City of Beauty’ Palangka Raya to always be careful when on the highway and in quiet places.
Then also store valuables properly, so as not to become victims of street crimes that have been happening in the local jurisdiction.
