MAKASSAR, OPEN – Recently inaugurated, the issue of internal rifts in the management of the Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI) of South Sulawesi Province began to surface. This follows the resignation of Mappinawang as Deputy General Chairperson of KONI South Sulawesi.

According to information compiled, Mappinawang resigned because he was not in line with the policies issued by policy makers in the management currently led by Yasir Machmud, as General Chairperson of the South Sulawesi KONI for the 2022-2026 term.

It is known that the KONI of South Sulawesi has just issued a Decree (SK) on the Head and Secretary of KONI for the City of Parepare, last Monday, 19 September 2022.

SK Carateker KONI Parepare is suspected to be the culmination of several problems that exist in the internal KONI South Sulawesi.

It was confirmed, Mappinawang was reluctant to explain further regarding his resignation in the management structure of the highest sports parent in South Sulawesi Province.

It is known, Mapppinawang officially resigned from the management of the South Sulawesi KONI on September 20, 2022.

“Yes, my resignation letter has been submitted. I don’t want to explain the reason, because it is personal and I don’t want to be crowded. So indeed I can’t contribute in my field. Everyone knows I’m a legal person, so I don’t think I can contribute much In the current management of KONI, that’s why I prefer to resign,” said Mappinawang, who has a lawyer background.
