Again, a cheap electric motorbike from India, Ola, experienced technical problems. One of the users suffered an injury to the face area after a shock absorber or the front suspension and wheels fell off when used at a speed of 35 km/hour.

Quoted from Cartoq, a Twitter user Samkit Parmar shared the Ola S1 Pro accident that happened to his wife. The front shock absorber dislodged which resulted in his wife falling while driving the electric scooter.

He claimed that the electric motor’s front suspension suddenly dislodged and the front wheels came off as well. This caused the scooter to lose control and his wife was thrown causing severe injuries to her face and head.

“He was driving @OlaElectric at 9.15pm at approx 35km/h when his front wheel came out of suspension. He was ejected forward and is in ICU resulting in serious injuries. Who is responsible?,” he tweeted.

The tweet was accompanied by a photo of the damaged motorbike in the front area and the condition of his wife who had injuries in the face area. It was not specified whether the wife was wearing a helmet. Samkit alsotags accounts of Ola Electric and Bhavish Aggarwal, Founder and CEO of Ola Electric.

Since its first launch, the Ola S1 Pro has reportedly experienced several quality and reliability issues related to its software, as well as its mechanical components. One of the most common problems is damage to the shock absorber unit or front suspension.

This is not the first time the Ola S1 Pro’s front suspension has fallen off. There have been instances of cases causing serious injury to riders.

Another owner who identified himself as Sanjeev was complaining on social media about how his S1 Pro’s suspension broke while riding the scooter. Sanjeev faced suspension issues after six days of taking delivery of the Ola S1 Pro.

Such quality problems not only hurt Ola Electric’s image, but also make people think again when they want to buy an eco-friendly scooter whose price starts at 79,999 rupees (Rp. 15.4 million).
